Niagara Falls
Day 1:
For the first three days we stayed in a State Park, Letchworth. It is known as the Grand Canyon of the east. We stayed in the Highbanks Campground. Behind our site there were trails that led to the Genesee River and the canyon. The walls of the canyon were beautiful!!!!!!
Day 2:
We went to see the Gardeau Overlook which was really nice. We then went to Inspiration Point. Here we could see the Upper and Middle Falls up close. We could also see the old railroad bridge in the distance. The wa terfalls were gorgeous. Next, we went up a lot of stairs to get above the Upper Falls and we got to cross the Upper Falls on the old railroad bridge. When we looked down the people looked like tiny dots. When we got above the falls we could see the water plummeting down the cliff. We then went to Geneseo College. Afterwards when we got to the park we saw the Mt. Morris Dam. It's the biggest concrete dam in the northeast.
Day 3:
Was the last day at Letchworth. We went to see the lower Falls. The falls were gorgeous!!! We went across on a foot bridge below the falls. That was neat. Then we went to the railroad bridge again. This time we all went a little bit further. Allison and David went the furthest to about the middle of the bridge. We saw a lot of wildlife that day: 3 woodchucks, 2 deer, 1 squirrel, 1 fox, 10 wild turke ys, and 1 mountain kitty.
Day 4:
We left for Niagara Falls. We stayed at Bissell's Hideaway in Fonthill, Ontario. It can be really crowded there. That day we went to the one acre pool they had. There was a water slide that was closed for the day and a metal slide that goes into the pool.
Day 5:
We went to Niagara Falls. We first saw the Canadian/Horseshoe Falls. That was beautiful. We went right up to where the river falls down the cliff. The water was moving so fast. The steam from the falls must have rose at least fifty feet. We could see the American and Bridal Veil Falls from a distance. The American Falls had a bunch of rocks at the bottom. Next, we went on the Maid of the Mist. It's a boat ride that takes you up to the American Falls and into the horseshoe part of the Canadian Falls where we got soaked from the mist. The waterfalls seem like they're right next to you. Afterwards we went to the Journey Behind the Falls. We went right up to the side of the Canadian Falls. We felt like we could touch the water pouring down and be taken away. We also went to two viewing portals where we could see behind the Canadian Falls. The sound is so hard from the force of the water pounding it feels as if our heads were going to explode.
Day 6:
We went to the Skylon Tower. It has elevators that go up on the outside of the building and at the top we could see thee waterfalls, not far away. We could see the Great Lakes, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, far off in the distance . The IMAX Theater was our next stop. We went to see the movie Niagara. It was about the people who went over the falls on purpose and by accident. At ten o'clock that night we saw the fireworks display over the falls. That was fun seeing the falls light up in different colors.

Day 7:
We hung out at the pool all day. It was good just to relax and hang loose.
Day 8:
The last day we went to Niagara on the Lake. This is where the Niagara River flows into Lake Ontario. The lake is really big. We then went shopping at some stores. On the way back we went to Fort George which was a Canadian Fort. There were some soldiers shooting their guns and cannons.
Day 9:
We left Niagara Falls and headed to Chenango Valley. Our last day of camping we went to a stream behind our campground and caught some minnows. We then went to the lake and went swimming for a few minutes. After cooling off we rented a paddle boat and a canoe and took turns boating down the lake.
Day 10:
We went home.
